dakini_3’s East-Meets-West synthesis perspective emerged during the 1980’s while working with Jerome Kagan, a developmental psychology pioneer and Principal Investigator of the Harvard Infant Study who also acted as Director of the New England Node of the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Network on Human Development during her tenure at the Kagan Lab.
She continued working in cutting edge research and technology environments including Bolt, Beranek and Newman (BBN Technologies; BBN Communications Group) which installed the first network node between UCLA , UC Santa Cruz and the University of Utah (DARPA, ARPANET project); with Dr. Lynn Margulis, Co-Author of the Gaia Hypothesis (in conjunction with James E. Lovelock), and acting as a Program Manager for Rapid Deployment Web Development projects at Intel, and as a Business Analyst for Microsoft before shifting her focus East.
dakini_3 , is a Yoga Alliance registered Yoga Teacher, received her BKS Iyengar inspired Hatha Yoga Teacher Training from Pacific Yoga in Seattle, and is certified as Cancer Exercise Specialist. She is a Buddhist meditation practitioner receiving her Chenrezi Bodhisattva Vows from His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama in (1993) and His Holiness the 17th Karmapa (2008), and her Vajrayogini Vows from Her Eminence Sakya Jetsun Kushok Chimey Luding (2007). She teaches Shamatha (Calm Abiding) Seven-Point Mind Training at Sakya Monastery and at the Ryther Child Center, supporting their in-patient adolescent drug and alcohol rehabilitation program, and has also done youth outreach teaching Punk Rock Yoga at the Vera Project.
She is currently active as a Lead Organizer for the Seeds of Compassion and acted as Program Manager for the Seattle Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center Seeds of Compassion internal effort, which co-sponsored the Seeds of Compassion conference in Seattle, Washington, April 11-15, 2008.
